A new species of tarantula, Coremiocnemis tropix (Araneae, Mygalomorphae, Theraphosidae) is described from northern Australia; it is the first record of the genus outside of Malaysia. This species is Australia’s only true rainforest tarantula, also being one of the smallest. Their Life-span can range from 15-25 years in captivity. Current Sling Size is 10-15mm will grow to Adult size of approximately 90mm. Required Environment Substrate: moist Sphagnum moss, damp Coir peat/Peat moss 70/30 ratio. We feed them Pinhead crickets as Slings or the leg of a medium sized cricket.
